Community-Driven:
NAVCDP Is Designed to Be a Community-Driven Project, Focusing on Empowering Farmers and Strengthening Local Institutions.
Value Chain Focus:
The Project Aims to Improve the Entire Value Chain, From Production to Market Access, For Specific Agricultural Products.
Productivity Enhancement:
NAVCDP Supports Interventions That Enhance Productivity, Including Access to Quality Inputs, Training on Good Agricultural Practices, and Climate-Smart Farming Techniques.Market Linkages:
The Project Aims to Strengthen Linkages Between Farmers and Buyers, Facilitating Access to Markets and Increasing Incomes.
Infrastructure Development:
NAVCDP Supports Infrastructure Investments, Such As Irrigation Systems and Storage Facilities, to Improve Post-Harvest Handling and Reduce Losses.
Financial Inclusion:
The Project Aims to Improve Access to Credit and Financial Services for Farmers, Enabling Them to Invest in Their Businesses.
Murang'a is one of the 33 counties participating in NAVCDP.
Murang'a County Government Is Collaborating With the National Government and Other Partners to Implement NAVCDP Projects.
The National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP) is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD) and funded by the World Bank (WB).
The National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP) Will Build on the Foundation Set by Two Existing World Bank-Funded Projects: the National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive Growth Project and the Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture Project. It Will Primarily Focus on a Subset of Farmers Drawn from These Two Projects. The Project Development Objective (PDO) Is to Increase Market Participation and Value Addition for Targeted Farmers in Select Value Chains in Project Areas.
