Overview
Under the leadership of Governor Dr. Irungu Kang'ata since 2022, Murang'a County has made significant strides in enhancing healthcare infrastructure across various levels. Notable projects include the ongoing construction of Nyakianga Hospital in Mathioya Constituency and the renovation of Kangema Level 4 Hospital, which now features a new borehole to ensure a reliable water supply. Maragua Level 4 Hospital has expanded with two new wards, and Murang'a Level 5 Hospital is undergoing upgrades with new casualty wards to improve emergency services. Kandara Level 4 Hospital has also benefited from new wards, and Kirwara Level 4 Hospital has completed new ward constructions. Additionally, the Kenneth Matiba Level 5 Hospital in Kenol has seen the completion of Phase 1, marking a significant milestone in the county's healthcare development.

The establishment and upgrading of these facilities have brought essential medical services closer to residents, reducing travel distances for healthcare, alleviating pressure on larger hospitals, and ensuring timely and accessible medical care at the community level.
