Overview
Murang’a County Government is committed to nurturing the foundation of education by investing in Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) centers across the county. Recognizing that a child’s early years are crucial for cognitive, social, and emotional development, the county has prioritized building, upgrading, and equipping ECDE facilities. These community projects aim to create a conducive learning environment, ensuring young learners receive quality education from the start.

Murang’a County Government, under H.E. Governor Irungu Kang’ata, has started the Community Projects programme. The programme includes Renovating and Constructing new ECDE Centres across the county. The new ECDE Centres have Terrazzo Floors, Modern Ceilings, and Drawings to teach children.
Murang’a has 700 ECDE Centres, and in the 2022-2023 Financial Year, we have Rehabilitated 126 ECDE Centres and Built 13 New ECDE Centres.
In the 2023-2024 Financial Year, the County Government intends to Renovate and Construct 250 Centres.
In the Financial Year 2024-2025, All the Remaining ECDEs Will Be Completed.
By providing modern classrooms, essential learning materials, and trained educators, the county empowers children with a strong educational foundation — paving the way for lifelong success and contributing to the county’s future growth.
