Maize and Fertilizer distribution

On the last day of Maize and Fertilizer distribution, H.E Dr.Irungu Kang'ata joined farmers in Kiru, Muguru, Gaturi, Kamacharia and Gitugi wards as they received their inputs for the April planting season. The exercise is now complete in all the 35 wards with the farmers receiving certified Maize seeds, Planting and Top-dressing fertiliser. This initiative aims at increasing maize production for Consumption and for Commercial use. The County Government has also ensured that farmers have a market for their produce by Partnering with Joy Millers Limited to purchase last season’s maize from farmers at Ksh.3,500 per bag. Murang'a County Officials overseeing the distribution exercise include :CECM Agriculture Paul Mugo,C.O Agriculture Dr.Apollo Maina,Chair Agriculture Committee Pauline Muchiri, other CECMS, Chief Officers and Directors. Host MCAs:Hon.Morris Thuku (Kiru), Hon.Gathee Wanjeri(Gaturi) , Hon.Moses Muchiri (Muguru), Hon.Kamútu Gerald(Kamacharia) and Hon.Wairagu Edwin(Gitugi).
