The County Government of Murang’a has Today, officially launched the first phase of Telemedicine Services in 13 Select Public Hospitals across Murang’a County  in partnership with Health X and Byon 8. The remaining 25 Select Hospitals will have the same launched on September 23, 2024.

2. ITHANGA SUB-COUNTY ➢ Ithanga Health Center.

 3. KANDARA SUB-COUNTY ➢  ➢ Kagundu-Ini Health Center ➢Gacharage Dispensary.

4. KIGUMO SUB-COUNTY ➢ Sabasaba Health Centre.

5. MURANG’A SOUTH SUB-COUNTY ➢ Makuyu Health Centre.

6. KIHARU SUB-COUNTY  ➢ Mugeka Dispensary.

7. KAHURO SUB-COUNTY ➢ Murarandia Health Centre.

8. KANGEMA SUB-COUNTY ➢ Kanyenyaini Health Centre.

9. MATHIOYA SUB-COUNTY ➢ Nyangiti Health Centre ➢Kamacharia Dispensary ➢Kiria-ini Dispensary ➢Nyakianga Health Center.

Telemedicine is Medical Consultation, Diagnosis and Treatment of Patients by Doctors and Medical Health Experts from anywhere in the World using computerized Digital Communication and Telecommunication Technologies.

The Aim of this Telemedicine Program is to Decentralize Health Services and Decongest major Hospitals in Murang’a by ensuring that the People of Murang’a can get any Medical Service from their nearest Dispensary or Health Center. This will save them Money and Time used in traveling to major Hospitals for major Health Concerns, Consultation and Treatment.

Patients with Scheduled Appointments can now access Telemedicine Health Services at Fee of Ksh.100 which will cover both Consultation and Internet Costs. Holders of Kang’ata Care will not be charged for Medication or Medicine. Uninsured Patients will be required to Pay for their Medication. Patients with other Health Insurances will be required to Pay for their Medication until the NHIF/SHIF and other Health Insurers establish a Refund Mechanism with Murang’a County Government.
