New Kenneth Matiba Hospital
Murang’a County Government led by the Governor, H.E Irungu Kang’ata has TODAY, July 20,2024, launched a New Hospital; KENNETH MATIBA HOSPITAL in Makenji along Thika-Kenol Highway. This is the first Phase of what is set to become a New Level 5 County Referral Hospital in Makenji, Murang’a County.
This Healthcare Milestone shall going forward, save Murang’a County Government Ksh. 1.2 Million that was being spent to host Kenneth Matiba Eye and Dental Hospital in a rented Apartment in Kenol Town for the last 8 Years.
This New first Phase is equipped with a Modern Eye and Dental Unit, a general Outpatient and Casualty Section, a 19-Bed Inpatient Wards for Eye and Dental Patients, Laboratory, Pharmacy Section, Telemedicine Section and Theatre.
Thousands of Murang’a residents were Today offered Free Medical Services in the Dental, Eye, Telemedicine, general Outpatient and Chronic Diseases Consultation, Treatment and Medicine as well as reading Glasses for Eye Patients. Governor Kang’ata has promised to extend this Healthcare offer for Free on Monday next Week.
This is part of Governor Kang’ata’s ongoing Healthcare Revamp Program that includes other successful ongoing Programs like Kang’ata Care Health Insurance, Maternal Healthcare, Community Health Promoters, Automation of Healthcare in all Public Hospitals, Renovation and improvement of Sub-county Hospitals, construction of new Inpatient Wards and Dispensaries across Murang’a.
The Governor was in this Occasion accompanied by his Deputy H.E Stephen Munania, County Senator Hon. Joe Nyutu, Kenya Association of Manufacturers Chair Rajan Shah, Members of Murang’a Budget and Economic Forum led by Dr.Peter Munga, Members of County Assembly ledy by their Speaker Hon. Johnson Mukuha, County Officials, Murang’a Doctors and Medical Fraternity, members of the Clergy among Others.
