Kangata Care and Britam MOU Signing
Murang’a County Government Officials led by Deputy Governor Stephen Munania signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Britam for the Last Expense package in the Kang’atacare health Insurance programme. Under the updated package, Kang’atacare dependants will continue to enjoy Inpatient, Outpatient, Dental, and Optical care, along with free Ambulance services. However, the MoU introduces the following additional benefits:
Last Expense Coverage: In the unfortunate event of the death of the Principal member (the cardholder), the family will receive a Ksh 100,000 payout as last expense support. Additionally, a secondary school fee payment of Ksh 25,000 will be provided to assist the family during this difficult time.
Marriage Support: Upon the marriage of the Principal member, they will receive Ksh 10,000 as a token of support.
Childbirth Support: In the event of childbirth by the Principal member, an additional Ksh 10,000 will be given to the family as support.
Kang’atacare covers 40,000 households in Murang’a County, ensuring that these families have access to a wide range of health services, including the newly introduced benefits.
