County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries  

Mr. Albert Mwaniki Ndung’u holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture and Home Economics from Egerton University and is currently undertaking a Master’s Degree in integrated Soil fertility management at Kenyatta University. He also holds a certificate in quality management system and audit techniques from the House of Quality in South Africa.

He has over 21 years of experience in Agriculture and Agribusiness. Notably, Mr. Mwaniki has worked as the regional manager for East African Growers Limited.

In other capacities, Mr. Mwaniki has served as;

a) The chairperson for the Intergovernmental Thematic Working Group on Projects and inputs under the Intergovernmental Relations Act.

b) The technical specialist for World Vision Kenya.

c) An agronomist at Frigoken Limited.

He was appointed as the County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries in the County Government of Murang’a from the Year 2013. 

He served in that capacity until the end of the 5 year term of the County Government.  

His major achievements as the CEC Member for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries included;

 a) Provision of certified hybrid and composite planting materials and inputs to farmers.

b) Formulation of relevant policies on agriculture, livestock, fisheries and irrigation programs.

c) Preparation of the County Integrated development plans and the Annual Development Plans among other achievements. 



Mrs. Cecilia Muthoni Kibe holds a Master’s Degree in Sociology and Community Development from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture and a Diploma in Animal Husbandry from Egerton University.

She holds over 20 years of experience in Agriculture, Environmental Conservation and Climate Change having worked with the Ministry of Agriculture and livestock development where she rose through the ranks to the level of Senior Livestock Officer. She is currently the Managing Director of the Kenya Climate Change Justice Women Championships (KCJWC), a community based organization whose main objective is to build resilience on the effects of climate change.

She was instrumental in the development of the climate change action plan, the climate change policy and the now Climate Change law. She contributed to the Country’s Position Paper ( Gender component) during the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) negotiations.

Internationally, Cecilia Muthoni has in the last 7 years represented the concerns of the grassroot communities in Kenya in Gender and Climate Change discussions. She continues to undertake short-term assignments in monitoring and evaluation, impact assessment and baseline surveys in Kenya in matters environment and climate change.

She has a strong passion towards mitigating the effects of climate change to vulnerable groups in the society mainly the women and the children. 



Eng. Amos Kuria Njoroge holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil engineering from the University of Nairobi. He is a registered engineer with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) and is also trained on disaster preparedness.

He holds over 19 years of experience in civil engineering having worked for Hass Consult, an engineering firm in Botswana from 1999 to 2005 where he was engaged in design and supervision of various works. During his stay in Botswana, he was in involved in the lead engineering team in design and tender documentation for the upgrading of Old Naledi Infrastructure which involved the construction of road network covering 400 km, sewer and water reticulation, street lighting and storm water drainage.

He was appointed by the Governor of Murang’a County, Hon. Mwangi wa Iria to the Office of County Executive Committee Member for Energy, Transport and Infrastructure. A position he held from 2013 to the end of the first term of the County Government.

Locally he has also involved in community based projects specifically the Ragia Community project.

He is married and two children


Mr. Gerishon Nyagia undertook his undergraduate course at Kenyatta University from 1979 – 1983, majoring in Bachelor of Education Science. He also has a diploma in Education Management from the Kenya Education Management Institute (KEMI) which he undertook from 2012-2013.

He is also an alumnae of Njiiri High School where he studied for his A-Level from the Year 1977 to 1978 and prior to that he had attended his secondary school at Kiaguthu Secondary in Murang’a County.  
He has a vast working experience in various education institutions spanning over 22 Years. He rose to the rank of deputy principal at Kiaguthu Boys High school from a teacher, he also served as a senior principal of Njumbi High school and further appointed as a Principal of Weithaga High school.  
In other capacities he has served as;
 a) the vice Chairman of the Murang’a County Education Board

 b) the Chairman of the Murang’a County Secondary Schools head Association (KESSHA) 

 c) Member of the National heads association Governing council 

 d)Member of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Mathioya. 

 e) Treasurer Kahuro Division Joint Exams 
Among his major achievements in the education sector include preparation of Kenya Secondary schools heads association constitution and formulation of strategic plan for Njumbi High School Education Department,  ACK Diocese of Mt. Kenya Central and the Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association.  
He was appointed as the County Executive Committee Member for Education and ICT, in the Murang’a County Government from the Year 2014, where has served in that capacity until the end of the 5 year term of the County Government. 

His hobbies entail watching and playing football, poultry farming and reading motivational books.   

Mrs. Sarah Masaki is a holder of a Master of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Nairobi. She also undertook a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics Sociology and Geography from the University of Nairobi. She has further attained a post graduate diploma in Human resource Management at the Kenya Institute of Management Nairobi.  
She is a registered urban planner and has experience and training spanning over 20 years in land management, urban socio-economic environmental planning and public administration and management.
She has a vast working experience in various Corporate and Government Institutions. She served as an economist at the Ministry of Local Government, Nairobi. She worked as a planner at the Ground Truth Consultants and Omae and Associates, Nairobi. Mrs. Masaki worked as the Physical Planning Officer, Ministry of Lands Headquarters.

In the Year 2009 to 2012, she served as the senior physical planning officer, Murang’a. She has been a part-time lecturer in land matters at Kenyatta University. She also served as the Chief Physical Planning Officer at the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development.  
She was then appointed as the County Executive Committee Member (CEC) department of Land, Housing and Physical Planning Department, in Murang’a County Government in 2014 where she served until the end of the five year Government term.

Her interests include reading, swimming and meeting new people. 


Mrs Eunice Nyambura Macharia is a holder of a Masters  in Business administration – majoring in Human Resources Management. She also holds a post graduate higher diploma in human resource management from the Railway Training Institute and an undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Art’s from the University of Nairobi.  

She is a registered member of the Institute of Human Resources Management (IHRM) and also the Kenya Association for Public Administration and Management (KAPAM).  

She has vast working experience and training in human resources in various institutions. She has served as a senior personnel officer in the Ministry of Agriculture Nairobi, Office of the President-Kiambu District, Public Service Commission of Kenya, Nairobi, Ministry of Gender, Sports and social services and Ministry of Livestock development.  

She was then appointed as the County Executive Committee Member in the Department of Public Service in Murang’a County Government from the year 2013 to date where she served until the end of the five year Government term in 2017.  

                                   JOSEPH MBAI
Mr. Joseph Mbai is a holder of a Masters of Business Administration in Strategic Management. He has also undertaken a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Nairobi.  
He has working experience in pharmaceutical companies in the private sector. He was a head of sales and marketing at the Pharmaceutical Markets of Eastern Africa.

He has also been a Country Manager of Mepha Pharmaceutical based at Corticomp International and Advalue Africa Investments Tanzania.

He was a regional sales manager at the East Africa GlaxoSmithKline (EA) Consumer division and a medical representative at the same company.  


He is a holder of Master of Science in Human Resources Management from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He is also a holder of Master of Business Administration majoring in Finance and Accounting from Mount Kenya University. He has undertaken an undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option) from the Kenyatta University.

He is currently pursuing a PHD in finance from the Jomo Kenyatta University.  

He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) and has done several writings which he has published.
He has served as an administrative Assistant at the Kenyatta University. He also worked as the Chief Executive Officer of the Murang’a County Initiative Co. Ltd.

He has served a Business Development Manager at the Pioneer International University. 

He previously serverd as the Chief Officer in the department of Water Development, and also the field services coordinator for the Murang’a County Government.  

County Excutive Committee member for the Department of Finance and Economic Planning
He is holder of Bachelor of Commerce Business Administration from the University of Nairobi. He also holds an advanced management program from the Strathmore Business school. He has undertaken post graduate training and certificate courses in Marketing with the marketing society of Kenya and has participated in executive development programs locally and abroad.  
He has served in various management capacities in Government agencies and the private sector. He has been a Chairman of Multi Choice Kenya Ltd a leading pay TV company. He also served as the director Commonwealth Broadcasting Association (CBA) and African Union of Broadcasters ((AUB). He has served as a marketing representative of Total Oil (EA) Ltd, Kenya Shell and the Standard Ltd as the deputy advertising manager.  

In his vast experience in the communications sector, he was the general manager of Windor retail Ltd and Amedo/Madison group company, the sales and marketing manager at the new vision newspapers Uganda and Mwananchi Communications Limited. He further served as the managing director/Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).  
In the Year 2013, he was appointed as the County Executive Committee Member for the Trade, Investments, Commerce and Industry in the Murang’a County Government. He later served as the County Executive Member for Finance and Economic Planning in Murang’a County Government.
His interests are travelling, sports and philanthropy works.
