Access to healthcare is a fundamental right for every citizen. To improve the healthcare, my Government will undertake robust approaches such as the institution of highly specialized healthcare Centres and provide additional healthcare equipment.Plans are underway for the establishment of an Orthopedic Hospital and universal healthcare for inpatient services in all the County Government owned medical facilities.

The gains made in the last five years with regard to the provision of emergency and Renal healthcare, specialized medical services, construction of new dispensaries and provision of Optical and Dental Healthcare courtesy of the Kenneth Matiba Eye and Dental Hospital are very encouraging.

The county Government lobby for the gazettement of a Level V Hospitals to enable access to conditional grants necessary for stabilizing referral Healthcare.

WATER AND IRRIGATION 

Access to sufficient and safe water for domestic utility is paramount in the realization of the vision 2030 and Millennium Development Goals and sustaining the livelihood. The county government is pursuing avenues on Lowering water tariffs that have for too long hampered access to sufficient water for the residents.Resources will also be directed to establish Free public water points for constituents in highly populated areas.The County Government is also drilling more boreholes to boost the volume of water available for domestic use.

The County Government in collaboration with the national Government is also advancing a 10 billion water project for the Lower Murang’a 

Further, an irrigation scheme is being established for each Sub-County in ensuring that farmers across the County undertake irrigated farming with ease.

The County Assembly has contributed in enabling the County Government undertakes two giant irrigation schemes; Ajibika in Kandara and Kimathi-Githuri in addition to increasing the percentage of the constituent who bear access to piped water.
